Salon Of The Year

2012 GRAND PRIZE

Ginger Bay Salon and Spa Town & Country, MO

Owner: Laura Ortmann and Jeffrey Evenson

Salon owners Laura Ortmann and Jeffrey Evenson describe the design style of their new location as "Couth Industrial Gallery". The salon is designed in a Yin/Yang motif, with one side featuring black flooring and decor, while the opposite side relies on white elements. Contemporary art is hung high, making the ceiling appear even taller, thus creating a gallery feel and added splashes of vibrant colors.

2012 Salon of Distinction

Trilogy Salon Indianapolis, IN

Owner: Darlene Misko and J. Nichol Phillips

When designing Trilogy Salon, it was imperative to give a grand effect to a small space. The design has a visual stopping power. The first impression the client will get is the dramatic floor-to-ceiling wallpaper and curtains behind the cash wrap. The height elements in the salon draw the eye up to make the space feel larger. The design of the space not only provides an enhanced salon experience for clients, it has created a comfortable and relaxing environment.
