ROI calculator questions.
This calculator uses real pricing data collected from 80+ active Yume partner salons across the US as of March 2026. The cost structure (labor at 50%, variable costs at 5%, overhead) reflects industry norms for Japanese head spa operations. That said, your actual performance depends on your local market, client volume, and how aggressively you build out your service menu. Use this to get a directional estimate, then refine with your actual numbers.
New locations typically start in the conservative range (50% utilization) as they build their client base, often reaching 60–70% within 6–12 months with effective marketing. The conservative scenario assumes 8 hours of operating time per day with half the chair filled. A 60-minute session fills one hour; mix longer sessions to increase revenue per slot while reducing physical turnover.
The 60-minute session is by far the most common, offered by 57 of the 80+ salons in our dataset — about 30% of all service offerings. The 90-minute session is the second most popular at 22% of offerings. Many salons find that anchoring their menu around a flagship 60- or 90-minute service simplifies operations and maximizes revenue per treatment hour.
The calculator offers three discount tiers — 25%, 30%, and 35% off list price — which represent typical promotional and volume pricing. Contact your Yume sales representative for current promotional pricing and any bundled package deals. The payback period improves significantly with a higher equipment discount, so it's worth asking about current promotions before placing your order.
This calculator focuses on the direct P&L of the head spa service: revenue, labor, variable product costs, and fixed overhead. It does not include installation and shipping costs, staff training time, plumbing or electrical build-out, or financing interest if you choose to finance the equipment. For a complete cost analysis including installation and training, contact your Yume representative.
